El Salvador Main Problems


Major Infectious Diseases:
El Salvador suffers from many diseases but the most common ones are bacterial diarrhea, hepatitis A and typhoid fever which are food or waterborne diseases. Dengue fever is as well a major infectious disease but it is vector borne, and a water contact disease is leptospirosis.

Aids:
Aids in El Salvador affects 0.7% of the adult population, with about 30,000 people living with aids and about 3,000 dieing each year. The aids population in El Salvador is increasing.

Violence:
In El Salvador violence is a big problem. Turning in the wrong street or simply walking at night may lead to a robbery or even death in some neighborhoods. Gangs in El Salvador cause many of the violence. Law forces may sometimes be out numbered by gangs.

Exploitment of natural resources:
In El Salvador many natural resources are been destroyed or used up. Mass fishing causes fish, shrimp and other sea products in El Salvador to be at sometimes scarce and seem to be happening often. Houses are a problem in El Salvador, since El Salvador has an increasing population more houses have to be built to shelter the population. Since in the middle of the cities there is no more space for a big housing project, real estate companies build their big projects in the city outskirts, which is getting closer to the countryside and destroying arable land.
Weather
Weather may sometimes be a problem in El Salvador: hurricanes, floods, landslides an earthquakes harm the country's cities and countryside. For example hurricane Mitch made a lot of damage, most of damage done was to poor people, and two major earthquakes one in 1985 and the other one in 2001 destroyed buildings and produced landlsides that killed some people.
Poorness
In El Salvador poorness is a big problem because people from the countryside come to the cities hoping to find work but most of them are uneducated or not acostumed to the city life and so don't find any jobs.
Unenployment rate: 6.2 % this is really bad for a country. Some people are poor because their low incomes.


La mara 18 was created in Los Angeles ,California during the 1980's it stared by Salvadorians emigrating to California because of the Civil War so when they tried to join a Mexican gang they were rejected so they form their own gang. And to join the M.S 18 the had to be be beaten by the gang member for 18 seconds. Members of the gang were considered to be permanent participants until they died, with the exception of becoming "calmado" or "calmada" The typical age of new members to the gang in El Salvador is 12 years old or the least 9 years old. Mara 18 has extended to many cities within El Salvador and has been incorporated in other countries within Central America, primarily Honduras and Guatemala.In 2005, attacks between MS-13 and MS-18 in multiple prisons throughout Guatemala resulted in a series of highly coordinated riots which left 31 inmates dead, and dozens more wounded, all of the gagster are recognized by the tattooing which sometimes covers the whole face. ==
